how to make a font embedded pdf in word

While we highly recommend using Adobe Indesign to create artwork, we often receive PDF files from artwork designed in Microsoft Word. Depending on the project of course and the way it will be printed – digital or offset – will greatly depend on whether this artwork meets our press requirements. Typically, digital printing is more forgiving, so if you must supply your print ready PDF from a Word document, we highly recommend you download the attached instructions to ensure your fonts are embedded in your document correctly to avoid any issues with your printed job.

What happens if fonts are not embedded?

Embedding fonts in your pdf file allows anyone who opens your file to see the document as you intended. If you don't embed a font, the pdf viewer will substitute a font if it is not available on the computer viewing the document, and the result usually isn't what you intended. This can greatly effect the quality of the printed document and make the printed fonts quite inconsistent.

Download our instructions here.

project showcase - training booklets - rose training

The Print Group Australia work with Rose Training on the print management of their training materials.

Offering a variety of titles, their Certificate IV materials are printed as saddle-stitched booklets. The booklet covers are printed on a 250gsm gloss art with internal pages printed on 80gsm bond. The booklet is then square-edge folded, saddle-stitched and trimmed to size.

The booklets are printed then dispatched direct to training locations across Australia. With the current COVID-19 restrictions, we have offered a pick and pack system whereby stock is kept on the shelf, then materials are dispatched direct to students at home.

Saddle stitched booklets are our most popular product for training material printing as they can bind up to 180pp and are quite cost effective. Our design team can also upgrade the look of your covers or add bleed to your existing design to really make the booklets look professional. This style of booklet is also available with the internal pages on 80gsm perforated stock, which works well for assessment booklets.

If you are an RTO looking for print management solutions for your training materials, call our experienced team today and we can discuss the variety of options available to suit your RTO.
