10 tips for brochure design

1. DESIGN FOR PRINT

When designing your brochure it’s important to think of the end process – how will this look once printed? If you design it correctly from the beginning, you will save yourself a lot of trouble when you want to print, as what may look good on screen, may be unsuitable for print. Things to consider include using the correct page size, using correct colours (CMYK, not RGB), using press quality images (300dpi) and using good margins (nothing too close to the trimmed edge), just to name a few.

The Print Group Australia recently worked with Mares Oceania on the printing of the 2019/2020 Price List.

The catalogue was printed full colour throughout with the cover printed on 300gsm matt art board with a matt cello glaze single sided with spot UV. The internal pages were printed with on a 128pp matt art stock and the booklet was square edge folded and saddle-stitched.

The Print Group Australia recently worked with Seed Skills Australia on the printing of their presentation folders and student handbooks.

Their student handbook was printed colour throughout, with the cover on 250gsm satin with a matt cello glaze single sided. The internal pages were printed on a 150gsm satin with the booklet finished as a square edge fold saddle-stitched booklet. The Print Group Australia work with many RTOs (Registered Training Organisations) Australia-wide and this student hand book and presentation folder offers a great example of how quality graphic design and quality print can offer a stunning and professional printed piece for your business.

Their presentation folder was printed full colour single sided on 310gsm hi-bulk art board. It was finished with a matt cello glaze single sided and die-cut to shape using one of our existing die-lines. This particular die-line offers two fold in pockets for each side of the folder.
